You must believe in a supreme being to be a Freemason. We won’t ask about religion, that is personal to you.
To join you must be of good character with no criminal convictions. If you’re not sure what counts and what doesn’t, ask us.
Is your family aware of your interest in Freemasonry and, if so, are they supportive of your intention? It is always a good idea to share your intentions with your chosen family members.
The number of meetings per year varies from lodge to lodge, but you might expect at least six full meetings per year, together with two, three or four less formal rehearsal, learning and social meetings a month. Health warning. Freemasonry can become addictive and many Freemasons belong to several lodges or additional masonic orders.
Whilst not disproportionately expensive, there is a cost to Freemasonry (Joining fee. regular lodge subscription, dining fee, regalia) and it is important that you factor that into your consideration. Whilst each lodge differs in cost, you should anticipate paying somewhere in the region of £200 to £250 per year (there will also be a cost to dining after a meeting).

Meetings
At these meetings, new members are initiated into, or take further steps in, freemasonry, and the general business of the lodge is undertaken.
Our Lodge also boasts a very active Lodge of Instruction, at which time new members and those preparing to take office within the Lodge are given the opportunity to rehearse the ceremonies. These meetings are held at 17.45 on the third Monday of every month, except August.
